This blog demystifies the process of making an enquiry, receiving a quote and booking your date with Chester based MUA, Laura-Louise Makeup Artist.
1. Firstly, get in touch with Laura-Louise
Almost every single day, I am being contacted by Brides who are in the midst of wedding planning and looking for a wedding makeup artist.
I’m incredibly lucky to be told by Brides-to-be that they love the makeup looks that I have created on my clients and want me to create their makeup looks for their wedding day.
The majority of email enquiries are 12-18 months ahead of the wedding date and they come via my website handful of Brides choose to telephone me too, which is also lovely. Whatever is most comfortable for you.
Even at this early stage, Brides tell me all about their wedding including the date , the numbers of ladies requiring makeup, the locations for trial and on the day, the timings etc. The more you can tell me at this stage, the more I can tailor your quote to your exact requirements.
I aim to reply to all emails within 24 hours, however often I ping back a reply as soon as I physically can. Please do check your inbox and spam/junk email folder. If you find me in there, simply add me to your “safe senders” list to avoid finding me there again.
Even if I am booked, I will always, always reply, So if you don’t hear from me…drop me another message to ensure that I’ve received the first. It might be that it got lost in the ether.
I turn down many more enquiries than I take because I am already booked. After all there are only 52 Saturdays in every year. That’s the downside of being in this industry. I wish every other day was a Saturday.
2. Then receive your quote via email
All quotes are sent in writing via email. This allows me to adjust and tweak this until you are happy to proceed. Quotes are valid for 7 days.
If you like my work, book me. In my line of work, I do not “pencil dates” in to my diary. The only fair and open way to run my business is to offer a first come first served policy.
3. I want to book you, what happens now?
Just so you know, I have to take a booking fee to secure all bookings, in line with my insurance. No booking fee, no booking.
The booking fee is between £75.00 and £90.00. This fee comes off the package price and all of these details are included on your wedding agreement.
4. I’ve paid my booking fee! What now?
Once you have made your online payment, I shall record this on your wedding agreement and email this back to you for your records. I shall then add your date to my diary and no one is available to book that date.
It is my aim to make all stages of enquiring and booking as simple as possible. It doesn’t need to be complicated.
